We offer Unlimited data plans– each built around how you use your phone. No matter what Unlimited plan you choose, you’ll have unlimited data to use in Ireland and Europe. Our plans come with different maximum mobile data speeds, to match how you use your data.
 
What do you mean by speed?
 
Speed refers to how fast your mobile data connection is. We measure it in Mbps (megabits per second) – the higher the Mbps, the faster the speed of your data connection on your device.In practice this impacts how quickly you can send and receive information, like loading Instagram posts, streaming videos on YouTube, downloading or uploading files or making video calls.
 
How much speed do I need?
 
Not everyone uses their phone in the same way. Our Unlimited plans are built to match how you use yours. Take a look at the table below for how we recommend using each plan for data.Remember that the actual speeds will continually vary depending on many factors such as device capabilities, location, network congestion, network coverage and are relative to the maximum speed that applies to your plan.

Maximum download speed of 2Mbps

Light internet browsing
General surfing on the internet requires no more than 1 Mbps. Therefore, the data speed limit of 2 Mbps, will allow you to carry out your light browsing activities comfortably.

Checking social media
Facebook, including chat recommends 0.032 Mbps. Therefore, the data speed limit of 2 Mbps will allow you to enjoy unlimited browsing on Facebook.

Messages and emails

Music streaming (e.g. Spotify high quality)
Spotify recommends 0.36 Mbps to stream high quality music. Therefore, the data speed limit of 2 Mbps will allow you to enjoy unlimited music on Spotify. If you want to download a song, it will take under 15 seconds.

How do I join a Vodafone Unlimited plan?

The easiest way to sign up for a Vodafone Unlimited plan is online. If you are new to Vodafone, check above where you can see all the details of our current plans. If you are an existing Vodafone customer please log into My Vodafone. If you have never accessed My Vodafone before you can register easily here. You can also check out our handy video guide which will show you the few simple steps it takes to register.

When will I be eligible for an upgrade?

You can now check this by simply logging in to My Vodafone! 

Firstly, if you haven’t registered yet, you will need to set up your My Vodafone account. Registration is easy. Just follow the steps on screen.

Next, just log in with your username and password. If you are eligible for an upgrade, you will get a message at the top of the screen and you will be able to upgrade online.
