Our new Vodafone TV PLAY box is more than another TV box, it is an all-in-one entertainment hub with cinematic sound and picture, the best channels, sports, and streaming services, all in one place.

Vodafone TV PLAY has more than 100 channels at our customers disposal, including their favourites, the main premium channels, channels in High Definition and 4K ULTRA HD picture, as well as their favourite TV apps, such NOW TV, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and YouTube, and players such as RTÉ Player, Virgin Media Player, and TG4 Player.

What Broadband speeds are required for Vodafone TV Play bundles?

Our 3 bundles (Broadband & TV, Broadband & TV Entertainment, and Broadband & TV Sport) are available on all broadband speeds(100Mb,500Mb,1Gb,2Gb).

Customers must have Vodafone Fixed broadband to get Vodafone TV PLAY.

Available on all wholesaler networks (SIRO, eFTTH, NBI) - not available on Mobile Broadband.

Available on all speeds (100Mb,500Mb,1Gb,2Gb)

  • Minimum Speeds 20Mbps for one Vodafone TV PLAY box
  • Minimum Speeds 28Mpbs for multiple Vodafone TV PLAY boxes

How can you change from Legacy TV to Vodafone TV Play in UFE upon customer request?

This will be completed as per today’s process Upgrade/Downgrade.

  1. Contextualise the service in UFE and select Sales > Sales
  2. Then select Fixed and converged offers within Catalogue, and select Add.
  3. Select the existing plan within How do you wish to add this offer to the basket?, then select Add.
  4. Follow Check Serviceability flow *EIRCODE, CLI/CRN etc.
  5. Then select the offer from the Offers available you want Add to the basket and follow the flow until Submit.
    *If an engineer or replacement modem is required you will get extra screens to complete.
    Please note contract summary will be part of this flow and you must get confirmation that the customer has agreed to it.

How can a customer purchase an additional NOW pass?

NOW passes are added to enable customers to get extra TV stations (NOW Entertainment or NOW Sports).

New customers

They can purchase NOW Entertainment or NOW Sports as part of our broadband & TV bundles online, both subject to a 12-month contract. 

Alternatively, if they would like to purchase additional NOW Membership passes not included in the bundles, they can call 1800 805 018 and we will assist them. 

Existing customers

They can also purchase additional NOW Membership passes at any time using the 'My TV Zone' app on the TV PLAY box.  

Additional memberships include NOW Entertainment, NOW Sports, NOW Cinema, NOW Sports Extra, NOW Hayu, & NOW Boost.

How can you add a pass to Vodafone TV Play in UFE upon customer request?

Example: customer wants to add the NOW TV Boost Pass.

Contextualise the Broadband component in UFE.

Within the TV Component, navigate to VTV Theme Packs and turn the slider Green to open a selection.

Scroll through the list of VTV Theme Packs, Click the slider to Green for the desired Standalone (SA) Now Pass and then Click Next.

Continue the Add on flow by Clicking Next to complete and wrap.

Contextualise the Broadband component in UFE.
Within the TV Component, navigate to VTV Theme Packs.
Scroll through the list of VTV Theme Packs, Click the slider to Red for the desired Standalone (SA) Now Pass and then Click Next.
Continue the Add on flow by Clicking Next to complete and wrap.

Can a customer purchase additional boxes for Multiroom viewing?

Customers can access their favourite TV shows outside of their main TV box in various ways.
They can watch TV anywhere on the Vodafone TV Anywhere App for no extra cost or they can purchase additional TV boxes to watch TV in any room.


Purchasing Additional TV boxes
Customers can purchase extra TV boxes for their household in My TV Zone, or by calling 1907.

  • Customers can choose free self-install for multi-room viewing, alternatively €50 for a Technician install.
  • The cost of an additional TV box will be €99 per box (one-time fee)
  • Cost per month: €10 per additional box.
  • The extra TV boxes will have the same feature as the main TV box. Multiple boxes of the same household will be synchronised under the same household account.
  • Alternatively, the customer can use the TV Anywhere App and the built-in Chromecast options to watch TV on additional screens.

How can you add additional boxes in UFE upon customer request?

Contextualise the customer’s Broadband in UFE, then Open the Sales Tab in the SMART Menu.

From the Catalogue dropdown, select ‘Manage TV’s’ and click the customer’s current service in the dropdown and click Add.

 

Navigate to and select the STB function on the TV component.

Scroll down the list and turn the VTV Multi- Room slider GREEN.

Then select Next and complete the flow.

How can a customer pair their remote control with their TV?

The remote control supports commands via Bluetooth and Infrared.

 

To pair the remote to the TV box via Bluetooth, advise the customer to hold the (Number 3/DEF) button and the (Yellow Button) button for five seconds on the remote control.

Their remote must be paired via Bluetooth to use all Google Assistant features with the microphone button.If they didn’t choose to pair their remote during the First Time Install process, they can easily do so in the Settings section.

 

Pair remote anytime: 

Settings > System Settings > Remotes and accessories > Add remote control.

Why won’t some channels let me record shows?

Due to content licensing agreements, customers can’t record certain content.

However, we have all the key Irish players (RTE Player, Virgin Player, TG4 Player) on our TV box for a seamless experience across the live TV and streaming world.

We also have 7 Day Catch Up to ensure that customers don't miss any of their favourite shows.

To find their favourite shows at any time, they can head to the ‘Apps’ section or the TV Guide to find:

  • RTÉ Player (channel 150)
  • Virgin Media Player (channel 170)
  • TG4 Player (channel 180)’
