- Fever and temperature is an important indicator of COVID-19
- Vodafone Ireland offers complete managed service package to set-up, install and support the solution 24/7
Dublin, 25th June 2020 - Vodafone Ireland has today launched a new real-time remote temperature scanning solution – Vodafone Business Heat Detection. The onsite thermal cameras are connected over Vodafone’s secure Internet of Things (IoT) network, ensuring all data is encrypted, end-to-end.
Designed as a highly effective means of quickly identifying staff, customers and visitors who show signs of an elevated temperature, Vodafone Heat Detection will support the re-opening of shared spaces like commercial buildings, warehouses, distribution centres and hospitals, as Ireland exits lockdown. It comes with a highly secure, remote access capability, enabling monitoring to be done without the need for close human contact or the need for a physical presence on the premises. The solution has been developed in partnership with Digital Barriers, a world leader in edge-intelligent solutions for the global surveillance and security market.
Providing both a thermal and HD optical camera, the solution’s unique technology ensures reliable (+/- 0.3 deg C) real-time temperature detection. The thermal camera analyses body temperature, a key indicator of the presence of a fever, and sounds a discreet alarm to alert when a specific temperature threshold is exceeded. The system can screen up 100 people a minute with up to eight people in the field of view. Vodafone Ireland is also offering a managed service, including site surveys, system set up, installation and 24/7 support.
Paula Corcoran, Vodafone Business IOT Product Manager, said “The Internet of Things is already beginning to transform how businesses will reopen and operate post pandemic. Over the next few months, businesses will want to ensure they can go back to producing goods and services, while at the same time protecting the wellbeing of their employees, customers and visitors to their premises. This fully managed IoT solution, with live streaming capability and superior security, will help our customers get back to normal as quickly as possible.”
Vodafone Business Heat Detection solution can be deployed as a standalone system or as part of a network, linked to a centralised command and control location.
