Vodafone launches smart N9 – the latest technology to enhance your moments

The new device features the latest 4G technology in a slim, stylish design with a suite of customised safety solutions.
For peace of mind, the Vodafone Smart N9 comes with a suite of safety solutions including the ability to share real time locations with family and friends, or quickly send SOS messages to pre-defined emergency contacts, sound an alarm or even call emergency services. The Vodafone Smart N9 can be easily unlocked with a fast and secure fingerprint sensor.
The Vodafone Smart N9 boasts a generous 5.5” HD+ display allowing users to enjoy a big screen 18:9 aspect ratio experience from their favourite apps or pictures without needing a bigger handset. The ‘more screen, less bezel’ design fits perfectly in the hand and is available in Silver Aluminium and Black Titanium finishes.
Users can capture their most precious moments, again and again, with an advanced 13MP auto focus camera and an 8MP wide-angle front-facing selfie camera with flash.
The Vodafone Smart N9 comes with the latest Android™ 8.1 Oreo™ operating system, and is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek processor. With 16GB of internal memory and an additional SD card slot, there is plenty of space for photos and videos while a 2900 mAh battery ensures users can stay connected for longer.

The Vodafone Smart N9 comes with a suite of applications created especially by Vodafone to enable users to get the most from their smartphone.
- Help & Support – giving users an intuitive, accessible Android™ experience straight out of the box, including the ability to change the font and display size in the setup wizard. Help Tips highlight useful features and functions during the first few days and weeks of usage, and the ‘Tips’ application provides interactive tutorials and advice on new device features for both novice and advanced users.
- Lock Screen Mute Switch - Enabling or disabling silent mode on Android devices can be a challenge, involving up to six steps from the lock screen for most users. The lock screen ‘Mute Switch’ positioned next to the volume keys, provides a quick and easy way to enable or disable silent mode on your Vodafone device. Users swipe left to show the mute switch, then tap or swipe vertically to enable or disable silent mode.
- Emergency Mode - lets users in need quickly contact friends or family in an emergency – or even call the emergency services. Giving peace of mind, Emergency Mode is easily accessible even in lock screen via the power key quick access menu. Customised SOS messages can be sent to up to five pre-selected emergency contacts and, to aid discovery, users can also activate an alarm and flashlight strobe. ICE emergency contact and medical information is also provided for first responders from the device lock screen.
- Parental Restrictions - Vodafone’s new and improved device-based Parental Restrictions allow parents to help their children explore and enjoy their smartphone even more safely and securely. Customised controls permit parents to disable or restrict access to the internet, Google Play™ or installed apps, as well as setting daily time limits or weekend-only access to games and social media. New features include Force Ring, giving parents the ability to call their children at full ring volume – even if the child’s phone is on silent.
Vodafone’s SecureNet network-based service is an additional way for children to browse more safely while connected to Vodafone’s mobile network, further reducing the risks from inappropriate or harmful websites, dangerous files, malware or viruses. If any online threats are detected, they are stopped before they get anywhere near the device.
- Share My Journey – People travelling alone can quickly and easily share their journey with selected friends or family, via a conveniently placed shortcut to the Google Maps™ ‘Share Location’ function on the home screen. Users can share their location for a specified amount of time, such as an hour a day, using their preferred channel such as WhatsApp™, Facebook™ or SMS. The selected contacts can then keep track of the users’ journey progress via their own smartphone or PC.
