Vodafone Ireland launches the Vodafone Smart N9 lite, a perfect 4G smartphone for families and children at a price that won’t break the bank. It features an easy-to-grip but slim exterior and the latest technology combined with safety, security and control solutions to give parents peace of mind.
The Vodafone Smart N9 lite boasts a 5.3” display with a premium-level 18:9 aspect ratio – perfect for enjoying apps, games and videos on a wide screen that fits perfectly in the hand. The ‘more screen, less bezel’ Smart N9 lite reassures with a robust, tactile anti-slip grip and is available in satin-touch White Pearl and suede-feel _Black Ice _variants.
The Vodafone Smart N9 lite comes complete with a suite of applications so that younger users can explore and enjoy their device safely. Parental Restrictions on the device allow parents to control the access and screen time their children can have. It includes a new Force Ring feature, giving parents the ability to call their children at full ring volume – even if the child’s phone is on silent.

- *Parental Restrictions *- Vodafone’s new and improved device-based Parental Restrictions allow parents to help their children explore and enjoy their smartphone even more safely and securely. Customised controls permit parents to disable or restrict access to the internet, Google Play™ or installed apps, as well as setting daily time limits or weekend-only access to games and social media. New features include Force Ring, giving parents the ability to call their children at full ring volume – even if the child’s phone is on silent.
Vodafone’s SecureNet network-based service is an additional way for children to browse more safely while connected to Vodafone’s mobile network, further reducing the risks from inappropriate or harmful websites, dangerous files, malware or viruses. If any online threats are detected, they are stopped before they get anywhere near the device.
- Lock Screen Mute Switch - Enabling or disabling silent mode on Android devices can be a challenge, involving up to six steps from the lock screen for most users. The lock screen ‘Mute Switch’ positioned next to the volume keys, provides a quick and easy way to enable or disable silent mode on your Vodafone device. Users swipe left to show the mute switch, then tap or swipe vertically to enable or disable silent mode.
- Simple Notifications - The daily avalanche of notifications can be overwhelming for many users. Vodafone’s Simple Notifications mode makes users’ lives easier by prioritising important information like missed calls and new messages. Users can organise notifications like reminders, e-mails and social media updates into separate groups that can be expanded. Every time the device is unlocked, a reminder dialogue can also be enabled to highlight any missed calls or messages.
- *Help & Support *– giving users an intuitive, accessible Android™ experience straight out of the box, including the ability to change the font and display size in the setup wizard. Help Tips highlight useful features and functions during the first few days and weeks of usage, and the ‘Tips’ application provides interactive tutorials and advice on new device features for both novice and advanced users.
