Annual Price Adjustment
Each year we will make adjustments to the amount customers pay each month for their plans, so we can continue to invest in our networks, products and services.
We’re letting customers know in advance that they will see an increase in their monthly price plan from April each year. This price increase to their monthly price plan charge will be based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and ongoing investments we make in our mobile network, products and services. This applies to mobile bill pay customers who sign up or upgrade to a 6, 12 or 24-month minimum terms on their contract from 30 July 2021 onwards. This applies to our Business and Consumer mobile bill pay plans, including SIM only and mobile broadband plans.
How does this affect you?
You will see an increase in your monthly price plan charge each April, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) plus 3% · We use the CPI figure published by the Central Statistics Office in January and apply the change in April each year, in line with your terms and conditions. In the event that the CPI rate is negative, then no CPI amount is applicable but the additional 3% will still apply.
The 3% partially reflects the investments we need to make in our network, rising costs of equipment and services from our suppliers.
If you’re on an existing contract purchased before 30 July 2021, this price adjustment does not apply to you for the duration of your existing contract.
Note: For April 2022 Vodafone will implement the 2022 price adjustment of 5.5%. This is lower than the combination of the CPI rate of 5.5% published in January 2022 and the + 3% as the inflation rate is generally considered to be exceptionally high at present.
An example of effect of the 2022 5.5% adjustment is:
• A customer paying €40 a month would see their plan increase by €2.20 a month from April
• A customer paying €60 a month would see their plan increase by €3.30 a month from April
What is the Consumer Price Index (or CPI)?
What consumer and business plans are these terms applied to?
When will I see this on my bill?
In April of each year, as part of this Agreement, your monthly plan price will generally increase by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate published by the Central Statistics Office in January of each year (CPI % annual change rate) plus an additional 3% on top of the CPI rate.
The change is applied to your standard price plan charge before any discount is applied. When the increase is applied, we will apply the adjustment from your April bill. In the event that the CPI rate is negative, then no CPI amount is applicable but the additional 3% will still apply. You can check your bill by logging in to the My Vodafone app or My Vodafone online.
Why are you increasing my prices?
I am a business customer. Will I be affected?
What if I have a discount?
How does this impact my business?
The actual adjustment is dictated by the CPI rate published by the Central Statistics Office in January each year, plus an additional 3%.
As an example, if the CPI rate is 2.5%, prices would be affected as follows (with 3% added to the 2.5%):
- A customer paying €40 a month would see their plan increase by €2.20 a month from April
- A customer paying €60 a month would see their plan increase by €3.30 a month from April
What if I have a discount?
The CPI + 3% rates are applied to your monthly price plan charge before the discount is applied.
