Working from home: common questions
How can I keep in touch with loved ones that I can’t see every day?
There are many ways to keep in touch with your family and friends digitally. Calling and texting on a regular basis is a great way to stay connected. Apps like WhatsApp, Zoom and House Party are great fun and good to use when you want to talk to more than one person. If you have an iPhone, FaceTime is another great way to chat to others. Pick up the phone to elderly friends and relatives too – as we all know it’s important to stay connected to the more vulnerable members of society. Click here for a step-by-step guide to video calls on WhatsApp.Â
What tools and resources are available when working from home?
Work with your colleagues to find what tools work best for your organisation. Zoom, Skype and Microsoft Teams are all great collaboration tools to help people working from home. Keep in contact regularly with your team – communication is key! If you’re a Vodafone Business customer, you’ll also have access to resources to help with business continuity – find out more below.
What activities can I do with my family to stay busy at home?
The online community has come alight with exciting content and ideas to keep your family busy. From cooking tutorials and live yoga classes, to daily home workout sessions and arts and crafts, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Check out Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for some creative ideas on how to keep your family busy.
While this is a great time to keep busy and challenge yourself with a new skill or hobby, it’s also nice to switch off and spend time with loved ones.
What resources are available to keep children stimulated, busy and entertained?
There are lots of resources available online to keep children entertained. Education and learning materials may be available from your child’s school too! Here at Vodafone Ireland, we want to do as much as we can to help. Keep an eye on the My Vodafone app for some great offers to keep busy including 1 month of Azoomee free (great for kids entertainment), a free 4 week course for you and a friend with Shaw Academy (great range of courses to choose from), or 35% off 48 hour movie rentals with Rakuten TV (no better time for a movie night)! These offers and many more will be available on the app very soon with Fantastic Days.
